The executive team and I are looking forward to the year ahead. As with the rest of the world, the KHBA will be getting back to its pre-covid self while still maintaining advocacy for our membership.
We are bringing back the parade of new homes this year in the spring. We feel like this was our main public event in the past. It not only gives our homebuilder members a chance to show their homes in the peak of buying season, but also brings a larger audience out than a typical weekend would.
We are creating a closer relationship with the school boards and other educational bodies. This year we’ve added an educational director position on the board. We hope this will better help better train the next generation of skilled trade workers, business owners and possibly future KHBA members.
We pride ourselves on the working relationship we have with the City of Kingston. Navigating the changes from the provincial government creating effective policies that will help combat the housing supply issues that has turned into an affordable housing crisis. The discussion on an expansion of the Urban growth boundary continues to be one of the associations top priorities as we know this is a
